Compared to our previous Shinais, TAKATE has a thicker grip. Based on our research, more of an experienced Kenshi prefers slightly thicker grip compared to beginners who prefer thinner grip. These are some of the advantage of using TAKA-TE:

(1)   Thicker grip gives the feeling of full grip so unnecessary tension is eliminated

(2)   Due to the grip size, it corrects the habit of dropping the tip of your Shinai during practice

(3)   When you are in Tsubazeriai with your opponent, the thicker grip helps you support your weight evenly so you don¡¯t get pushed back

Actual Shinai weight is between 525g to 530g (Tsuba excluded), but since it has an exceptional balance, it feels less than 510g when you are using it.

There is a small Sakura design added on the exterior to give its character and is custom bulit to our specification in a facility in Japan.
