The Maru wakizashi is a short sword kept by samurai at all times even where katanas were prohibited. The blade of Mushashi Maru Wakizashi is forged with quality high carbon steel for extremely sharp edge and features a medium quality polish finish which and as a result a prominent hamon is obtained. Unlike the normal wakizashi, however, the maru wakizashi blade is forged in the Kissaki Moro ha Zukuri design, a double edge blade where mune features a sharpened edge to the mid-point from the tip of the blade. The tsuka of the E-mudo Maru Wakizashi is furnished with ray skin which is wrapped with tightly-woven silk and boasts tsuba design from that of legendary Miyamoto Musashi own.
