Description
 
Yari, or Japanese spear, is typically designed with straight-head blade. The E-mudo magari (cross-shaped spear) yari blade is made of the same high-quality steel with which that the swords and arrow-heads of samurai weapons were forged, making the blade very durable. Magari yari blade-point had extremely long tangs which were usually longer than the sharpened portion the blade, protruding into a hollow portion of the handle. As a result, a very stiff shaft was created, and made it nearly impossible for the blade to fall or break off.
