The E-mudo Hasu O-Katana features a high quality handmade polish of 1095 blade folded eight to twelve times, which results in a clear gunome hamon. This polish is a labor intensive procedure following traditional method performed by an experienced togishi. Both Shitaji and shiage hand polishing are achieved with ten to twelve work hours over four to six days. This elaborate execution of polishing produces glorious hamon as well as the illustrative details of the hada which will be well appreciated on display. The Hasu O-Katana is similar to the Hasu Katana, but has a longer blade at 31.7 in. The E-mudo Hasu O-Katana tsuka is adorned with ray skin cover which is then wrapped with tightly-woven silk tsuka-ito. The tsuba features a historical hasu, or lotus leaf, motif.
