The blade of Chikurin Wakizashi is forged with Swedish powdered steel. The billet is folded 10-12 times and then tempered to produce HRC48-50 edge and HRC45 back. The natural gunome and notare hamon produced by the traditional Nihonto forging method is further accentuated by the shitaji and shiage process to obtain a clear and distinct hamon.
