The E-mudo Chikurin O-Katana is a product of delicate and time consuming process where the billet is specially forge-folded based on traditional Japanese method for tamahagane. The Swedish powdered steel billet is folded 10-12 times by E-mudo blacksmith producing an incredible natural hada and removing metal impurities and air. The edge of the sword is hardened into a martensite through a process called yaki-ire, in which the folded metal is covered in clay leaving the edge exposed. This procedure creates a natural gunome and notare hamon which is then refined through shitaji and shiage process. This special treatment of the billet as well as the high quality polish finish presents a sword of collectible quality. The Chikurin O-Katana, though similar in many aspects compared to the Chikurin Katana, has a longer blade, 31.7 in. The astonishing craftsmanship of this sword presents a superior aesthetic and performance making it a recommended blade by Mose Becerra.
