The E-mudo Chikurin Katana has a handmade polish that evinces a clear gunome hamon. Shitaji and shiage hand polishinghe lower and final polishre in their own right traditional art forms that a trained togishi executes over a four to six day period, working ten to twelve hours a day. Features of the Chikurin Katana koshirae are ray skin on the tsuka with a tightly-woven silk wrap (tsuka-ito) and a historical chikurin, bamboo leaf, motif.
