When the wakizashi accompanies a katana, the pair is called a daisho. The wakizashi was a sidearm kept by a samurai at all timest his bedside and in places where katana were prohibited. The E-mudo Arashi Wakizashi is a utilitarian blade designed, weighted, and tempered for tameshigiri, a cutting art that tests the sword blade and an exponent skill. The spring steel of the wakizashi blade has durable properties that make it better suited to cutting over more expensive metals as it will not easily incur kizuword flawsith continual practice. Features of the E-mudo Arashi Wazkizashi koshirae are ray skin on the tsuka with a tightly-woven silk wrap (tsuka-ito) and a historical hiryuu, flying dragon, motif on the tsuba. Tsuka-ito are available in three different colors: black, brown, green.
