Maru Wakizashi completes a daisho when accompanied by a Maru katana. The Maru wakizashi is a short sword kept by samurai at all times even where katanas were prohibited.
The E-mudo Arashi Maru Wakizashi is designed and balanced for excellent tameshigiri, or the art of cutting. The blade of wakizashi is forged with spring steel for durability. Unlike the normal wakizashi, however, the maru wakizashi blade is forged in the Kissaki Moro ha Zukuri design, a double edge blade where mune features a sharpened edge to the mid-point. The tsuka of the E-mudo Maru Wakizashi is furnished with ray skin which is wrapped with tightly-woven silk.
